Bobby “Bob” Eugene Shelton December 10, 1937 – January 01, 2019 Local Florists Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Bobby (Bob) Shelton Gaffney, SC – – Bobby Eugene (Bob) Shelton, 81, of 113 Huntington Drive, passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born in Henrietta, NC, he was the husband of the late Joan Elizabeth Griffin Shelton and son of the late Henry Brown Shelton and Ada Emaline Putnam Shelton. He was the owner and broker in charge of Shelton Properties, a U. S. Marines veteran and of the Baptist faith.

Bob was the past president of the Cherokee County Board of Realtors for three terms, past realtor of the year for three terms, past district vice-president for the S. C. Association of Realtors, past regional vice-president for the S. C. Association of Realtors, past secretary/treasurer for the Educational Foundation for the S. C. Association of Realtors, a member of the National Association of Realtors Emmeritus, a member of the National REO Brokers Association, past Master Broker for South Carolina and Real Estate Seminar Instructor. He was the past exalted ruler of the Gaffney Elks Lodge, past Elks Scholarship Committee Chairman, past vice-president for the S. C. Elks Association, past president for the S. C. Elks Association, a member of the Elk’s Hall of Fame, former chairman of the Cherokee County Republication Party, past delegate to Republican National Convention and former vice-chairman of the Housing Committee for the City of Gaffney. Bob’s passion was real estate.

Nothing gave him more joy than helping someone find a place to call home. Surviving are two sons, Roger Keith Shelton and wife, Stephanie of Greenville and Kevin Spicer and wife, Zhiling Liu, of Greer; two daughters, Cathy Carter and husband, Rev. Lane Carter of Gaffney and Sherri Capps and husband, Keith of Gaffney; a brother, Jack Shelton and wife, Ramona of Gaffney; twelve grandchildren, Emily Bagwell and husband, Tyler, Erin Smith and husband, Cameron, Eric Carter, Ethan Carter, Elaine Carter, Ryann Shelton, Brook Shelton, Ria Shelton, Blake Shelton, Griffin Capps, Alexandra Capps and Elizabeth Spicer; two great-grandchildren, Leah Smith and Andrew Capps.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, George Shelton, Johnny Shelton, Wayne Shelton, Billy Shelton and Sonny Shelton and five sisters, Betty Byrd, Margie Lucas, Velma Ramsey, Lucille Weaver and Martha Jane Shelton. The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM until 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00 PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.

Lane Carter officiating. Entombment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
