Bobby Ray Long, Jr. passed into the arms of our Savior, Jesus on December 16, 2018 at home surrounded by his family. He was born October 2, 1958 in Danville, the son of Bobby and Arwilda (Mikel) Long, Sr He leaves behind his wife, janlynn (Johnson) Long, his children, Lanee-Brooke (Ryan) Peterson, Mazee-Rae (Luis) Martinez, Beau Long, step-daughter, Andrea a sister Loretta (Bruce) West of Lafayette, IN.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Chester and Dorothy Mikel and Earl and Peggy Long, Granddaughter Grace-Marie. Bobby was a devoted family man who dearly loved his grandchildren, watching the six of them grow was a blessing. Bobby was a truck driver for the Estes Corporation.

He loved to travel the open road. His hobby was the game of billiards. He loved serving the Lord and participated in Prison Ministries.

A lover of music, he travelled with Freddie and the Freeloaders playing drums. He also had the Silver Nickle Band and made an album with the Deep River Band. Bobby loved the Cubs and the Bears, win or lose, he was a true fan.

Services will be December 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Tilton with Pastors Joe Humrichous and Curt Darling officiating. Visitation will be from 10 am to 11 am. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
