Bonita deLeon Bardauskis, 76, of Bonita Springs, FL, passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2019. Formerly of Willowbrook, IL, she had been a Bonita Springs resident for the last eighteen years. She was born January 22, 1943 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Andrew and Margaret (née Graves) deLeon.

Bonnie is a loving aunt to her many nieces and nephews. Not having children of her own, she had a special love for them. Bonnie was given a special talent of reaching children.

Bonnie was a career kindergarten teacher in Bellwood, IL. Always soft- spoken, it was amazing to watch her take a class of 5 year-old children and teach them their life-long skills, especially reading. Bonnie always loved to pick up a children’s book and read to them.

Bonnie’s love of God’s creatures was shown in caring for her pet dogs Meitu and Pang. While residing in Illinois, Bonnie loved playing Bridge and having lunch with her best friends Ron and Margie. Upon retiring to Florida, Bonnie loved to walk the beach and enjoyed being with all her new-found friends at Bermuda Lago.

Mrs. Bardauskis is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Daniel J. Bardauskis; her brother, Andrew deLeon of Phoenix, AZ; and sister, Michele (Michael) Sotir of Downers Grove, IL. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 28300 Beaumont Road, Bonita Springs. Additional services and burial will take place in Illinois.
