Obituary for Bradley Alex Proffit Bradley Alex Proffit, age 41, of Medora, passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at his residence following an illness of three years. Mr. Proffit was a member of Medora Wesleyan Church. Born on April 11, 1977 at Seymour, he was the son of Alex Junior and Linda Reynolds Proffit.
His father preceded him in death on August 14, 2011, and his mother survives in Medora. Brad was a music composer and singer. He loved working on automobiles and was an avid country music fan from childhood.
He enjoyed playing his music and singing at local pubs and venues, especially in Goodlettsville, Tennessee, where he lived two years pursuing his music career. He recently released his album called “Notes to Self” and had an article written about his album in the Seymour Tribune. He was involved in the Southeastern Emmaus Community and Medora Brick Plant Committee.
Survivors also include one son: Alex (Heaven) Proffit-Thompson of Medora; one granddaughter: Kaycee Jade Thompson of Medora; four brothers: Aaron D. Proffit of Brownstown, Timothy D. (Suanne) Reynolds of Medora, James R. (Katie) Reynolds of Arkansas, and Anthony R. Loudermilk of Seymour; two sisters: Alisha D.L. (Sherman, III) McElfresh of Freetown, and Kisha R. Loudermilk of Seymour; five nieces: Ashley Proffit, Marissa McElfresh, Mallory McElfresh, Maylee McElfresh, and Kylie Reynolds; seven nephews: Darin (Samantha) Reynolds, Mitchell Reynolds, T.J. Reynolds, Jonathan (Emily) Reynolds, Bryce Reynolds, Gavin Reynolds, and Jared Proffit; one great-niece: Emma Kate Reynolds; and one great-nephew: Quincy Reynolds. Besides his father, he was also preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Alex and Helen (Soladine) Proffit; maternal grandparents: James, Jr. and Martha (Peek) Reynolds; one uncle: Leonard Proffit; and one aunt: Virginia Hupp. Funeral services for Bradley Alex Proffit will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2018, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, with Pastor Skip Breeden officiating.
Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown. Interment will be at Proctor Cemetery/Dixon Chapel, Lawrence County. Memorials may be given to Medora Wesleyan Church.
