Brenda’s Obituary Brenda J Friend, of Morgantown, WV, passed away at her home on May 1, 2019, at the age of 64. The daughter of the late David Cyrus Reese and Virginia Stewart Reese, Brenda was born August 16, 1954, in Morgantown, WV. She attended University High School before starting her family and dedicating her life to raising them.

She worked most recently as a paraprofessional in the Monongalia County schools. She married Ronald Friend on July 2, 1981. He preceded her in death on January 15, 2015.

Ron and Brenda enjoyed watching sunsets on the back porch together and there is joy knowing they are back together once again. Brenda is survived by her children Randy (Christy) Cottrell, Jennifer (David) Longanbach, Ronelle (Jay) Barr, Dempsey (Alicia) Friend, and Nick Friend; her grandchildren Nicholas, Jimmy, Lindsey, Grace, Leslie, Craig, Brody and Kori; her brothers Jim (Betty) Reese, and David (Donna) Reese; her sister Patricia Reese; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends may call at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home, Friday, May 3, 2019, from 6-8 p.m., and again on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service with Rev.

Nate Williamson officiating. Honoring Brenda’s wishes cremation will follow. Her ashes will be laid to rest at the Pisgah Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Brenda’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
