Obituary for Brenda Joyce Rutledge-Schuh Brenda Joyce Rutledge Schuh born September 11, 1958 traded in her Superwoman cape for Angel Wings on June 25, 2018 surrounded by family and friends. Brenda is preceded in death by both of her parents Tillman Joe and Joyce Ann Rutledge and her Brother Tillman Joe Rutledge Jr. (Rocky). Brenda is survived by her HOL (husband) Ronald C. Schuh and their daughters Tracie J. Schuh, wife Samantha, Kelly H. Siegler, husband Neal and Lisa D. Schuh.
And 7 Grandchildren, Isaiah, Hailey, Allison, Anabelle, Madelyn, Spencer and Amari. And so many family members and friends. Brenda was our Superwoman and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Brenda dedicated many years of service to the Helotes 4H club serving as a Club Manager and Manager of the Clover Kids Club. She was a member of the Helotes 4H booster club and served as Club Secretary for 4 years and received the 4H Salute to Excellence award from Texas A&M. Brenda served as a Director and Secretary for the Bexar County Junior Livestock Show and was named Director Emeritus in 2017.
Brenda also gave some of her time to the Helotes Cornyval Festival Committee for many years. Brenda has been a Life Member of the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo since 2005 serving on the Rodeo Hospitably Committee. While dedicating time to the kids in 4H and FFA she still found time to volunteer for the American Vets and the American Kidney Foundation.
She worked for USAA for 28 years. Brenda never met a stranger, she would light up a room when she walked into it and as her friends would say “she was the life of the party”. She gave everything she could and expected nothing in return.
She left one piece of advice for everyone, “No matter what life gives you, just keep smiling! ” Donations can be made in Brenda’s name to the Polycystic Kidney Foundation and the Cancer Therapy and Research Foundation.
