Obituary for Marguerite Wagner Cook McAllen, Texas – Marguerite (Margaret) Theresa Wagner Cox Cook , 101, was called home to be with the Lord on June 21, 2018 at Briar Cliff Nursing Facility. Margaret was born on April 25, 1917 in Mission, Texas to John and Pearl Wagner. Margaret grew up in Mission, Texas with her three brothers and spent her entire adult life caring for others in the nursing profession in Mission, Houston and San Antonio, Texas.

She loved her family very much and was Aunt Maggie to many children in her neighborhood and church. She really missed her church and church family at Mayfield Park Baptist Church and all her San Antonio family when she moved back to the Rio Grande Valley to live with her daughter. She is survived by her daughters, Dorothy Cox Wicks and Kimberly (significant other Tommy King) Cook; daughter-in-law Peggy (Benny) Keller; grandchildren, Bert (Denise) Wicks, JoBeth Rickard, Penny (Henry) Binger, Phoenix (Matthew) Albright, Hunter McDermott, Melody (Christian) Phillips; 7 great grand children and 8 great great grand children.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents John and Pearl Wagner; husband, Herbert Cook; brothers Walter, Herbert and Robert Wagner; son, Richard Cox, Jr; grandson, Randy Cox; son- in-law, Warner Wicks. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 27, 2018 from 9 to 10 a.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapel, 1700 S. E. Military Drive, in San Antonio, Texas. Funeral services and burial to follow at 10:00am and led by Pastor Michael Sutton at the Mission Park Funeral Chapel.
