Obituary for Brenda Lynn Barton Services will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton. Interment will follow at the Derby Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Monday, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Brenda’s family. Brenda was born December 11, 1962 to Larry and Charlotte Flanders in Chariton, Iowa. She went home to be with our Heavenly Father on October 16, 2018 at the age of 55 years, 10 months, and 5days.
Brenda was joined in marriage to Larry Wayne (Gumby) Barton, March 16, 1990 in Newton, Iowa. They lived in Chariton, Des Moines, and rural Russell before settling down in Derby where they moved into their home on July 4, 1996. (Thank you to Aunt Sharon) Brenda made jokes in younger years about never living in Derby because of how small it was, but she loved it.
She always said it was a great place to raise children and live a quiet peaceful life, even though the children thought it was boring. They were blessed with 5 children: Matthew Shain Kohler, Nicholas James Barton, Heather Lee Nicole Barton, Brittany Morgan J. Barton, and L.W. Dalton Rivers Barton. Her children and husband were her life and she dedicated each of the children to the Lord.
Brenda dedicated her life to the service of our Loving Heavenly Father, her children, and her husband. She loved deeply and was a very passionate person in what she believed in. Brenda will be greatly missed by her husband, Larry Barton of Derby; son, Matthew (Sandra) Kohler of Dexter, MO; son, Nicholas (Talena Rumley) Barton of Lucas; daughter, Heather (David Alexander) Barton of Derby; daughter, Brittany (Kody Stevens) Barton of Chariton; son, Dalton (Valerie Christiansen) Barton of Humeston; grandson, Noah; parents, Larry and Charlotte Flanders of Russell; and brother, Larry Wade (Wanda) Flanders of Russell, mother-in-law, Barbara Barton, and her extended family.
