Obituary for Brenda S. Ruffalo Brenda S. Meng Ruffalo, 66, of Pocono Summit, Pennsylvania, left this earthly world peacefully on November 15, 2018. Born in Greenwich, CT, she was the daughter of the late George Meng and Elizabeth Stowers. She is survived by her devoted husband of 17 years, Anthony Laino; three children, Mark Ruffalo and fiancé, Christina Hill of Lakeland, FL; Trisha Ruffalo of Stroudsburg, PA, and Cherie Pierce of Binghamton, NY; three sisters, Jane Meng-Macrone, Deborah Reilly, and Carol Meng Hogan; best friend of 50 years, Geraldine Kirchofer; two step-daughters, Christine Laino, Vanessa Stultz and husband, Tommy; three grandchildren, Ryan, Jaime and Madelyne.

Brenda loved spending time near oceans and lakes. She felt most at peace while enjoying the ocean air and the tranquility of nature’s gifts. Among her many hobbies, her favorite was being an avid antique collector.

She treasured all of the small and unique pleasures of life. However, her most enduring passion was her fierce love for her children, Mark, Trisha, and Cherie. Brenda and Tony opened the Corona Butcher Shop, in Scotrun, in 2003, and had enjoyed becoming friendly with so many wonderful community members.

In addition, Brenda spent several years as a monitor at the Pocono Mountain West Junior High School where the students affectionately called her “Miss Brenda”. Nothing gave her more pleasure than the years she spent working in the school. For those who knew and love her, Brenda will be remembered for her sense of humor, her fabulous eclectic style, her love of fairies, soap operas and all things Marilyn Monroe.

There will be a visitation from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, 23 N 9th St, Stroudsburg, PA 18360. Burial will be private. www.
