Obituary for Brian Joseph Decker Brian Joseph Decker, 67 of South East Annadale passed away after a strong and courageous battle with Brain Cancer on Sunday, January 6, 2018. Born in New York City on September 16, 1951 he was the beloved son to his parents Miriam and the late Joseph Decker. Brian was a graduate of Port Richmond High School.

After graduation, he went on to serve in the National Guard for 6 years. Throughout his career in the Finance industry, he became a well respected Financial Consultant in his field . He was the proud owner of his own brokerage firm Decker, Fagin & McDonough for many years.

Over the years, he worked as a consultant for back office and compliance for Brown Brothers and Morgan Stanley. His most recent position was with E-Trade Financial where he held the title Project Manager for in-client & on-boarding client due diligence. Brian retired from E- Trade in February 2018.

In his spare time, he loved to golf. He was an excellent cook and enjoyed singing to Frank Sinatra. He loved celebrating occasions with his family and friends and was considered a wine connoisseur amongst them.

He was a loving father to his children and dear friend to all. He also enjoyed taking care of the neighborhood clan as they were his family too. Brian was a loving and devoted husband to his late wife Catherine who passed in October of 2016.

They were married for 42 years. They lost their son Christopher in 1991. He is survived by his son Brian, daughter Alyssa Decker McGoorty, son in law William McGoorty, his mother Miriam Decker and siblings Kevin, Robin and Donald Decker.

He was soon to be promoted to proud grandfather to a baby girl who is arriving in March. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:45 AM on Wednesday at St. Clare Church located at 110 Nelson Ave Staten Island, New York 10308. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY.

The family will receive friends from 2:00- 5:00 & 7:00 – 9:00 P.M. on Tuesday at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York.
