Obituary for Robert Calvert Scoles Robert Calvert Scoles of Eltingville passed away on New Years Eve at Carmel Richmond Nursing Home. A lifelong Staten Islander, Robert enlisted in the United States Air Force after graduating Tottenville High School to serve in the Korean War. After completing his tour of duty, he worked assembling airplane engines with Air Tron Corporation.

Upon his retirement from Air Tron he embarked on a second career becoming a New York City Corrections Officer working at Rikers Island. Robert could be described as a sports enthusiast, he enjoyed watching any sport and rooted for any New York team, but his true passion was collecting Military antiques and memorabilia. Robert is survived by his many loving cousins; Dr. Richard Enemark and his children Faith and Forrest, Dawn Oliver, her husband Mark and their children Hope and Holly, Sandra Dinger and Frank Piazza.

A gathering of family and friends will take place on Friday from 10:00a.m. until 12:00p.m. at the John Vincent Scalia home For Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd. Religious services will begin at 12:noon. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery with full Military Honors.

Robert’s family would like to especially thank the Nurses and staff at Carmel Richmond Nursing Home along with the Nurses’, Social Workers and staff at University Hospice for the level of care they gave to Robert.
