Catherine F Lento, 101 of Eltingville formerly of Brooklyn passed away on Monday, February 18, 2019, at Verrazano Nursing Home in Staten Island, New York. Born Wednesday, October 17, 1917 in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Biagio Di Salvo and the late Cosma Anzalone DiSalvo. The youngest of 9 children and the last of her generation, Catherine lived for more than 90 years in Brooklyn, before moving to Eltingville to settle with her son.

A Home Maker, Catherine was a creative genius, Catherine made everything from clothing for Dolls and People, to Christmas decorations, to pinata’s and favors for birthday parties. her niece Anna recalled the intricate Nativity sets Catherine would craft from paper mache and Styrofoam, down to the very last detail. Beloved wife of the late Nicholas Lento.

Loving mother of Ernest Lento. Dear mother in law of Grace Lento. Devoted Grandmother of Nicholas Lento and is wife Amy.

Cherished great grandmother of Nicholas and Michael Lento. Dear sister, aunt, and friend to many. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at Holy Child Church located at 4747 Amboy Road Staten Island, New York 10312.

Time to be announced. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Wednesday and Thursday at the John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York.
