Bruce Letson, 71, passed away unexpectedly in his Maynard home on May 29, 2018. Bruce was born on October 5, 1946 and was long time resident of Weymouth. He attended Bridgewater College before joining the army and completing two tours in Vietnam from 1969-1971.

After returning home, he was employed by the U.S. Postal office for 20 years. He was also involved in auctions and antiques for over 30 years and ran his own antique business, DecoTeeks. He completed a master’s degree in marketing from the Southern New Hampshire University in 2017 and was most recently writing a novel and an online antique blog.

Bruce was an outgoing and charismatic free spirit with a passion for fine cooking, antiques and a good story. He was loved by all who had the pleasure to know him. He is survived by his sister, Barbara Gong of Scituate; his nephews Gary Hendershot of Hanover, Christopher Gong of Hingham and Dudley Letson, IV of Medway; his nieces Catherine Fisher of Florida and Joanna Sands of Weymouth; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Bruce was the son of the late Dudley Letson, Jr. and the late Gertrude I. (Duffy) Letson. He was the brother of the late Robert Letson, formerly of Weymouth and the late Dudley Letson, III, formerly of Hingham. Visiting hour will be held at the Mortimer N. Peck | Russell Peck Funeral Home, 870 Broad Street (opposite the U. S. Post Office in Jackson Square), East Weymouth on Tuesday, June 5th from 10 a.m. until noon with a Funeral Service at 11:00AM.

Burial will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 1:30PM.
