January 4, 1926 – April 5, 2018 Byron D. Snyder, 92, of Albany, passed away at his home with family at his side. He was born the son of Dr. Thomas S. and Dorothy (Gray) Snyder in Battle Ford, Saskatchewan, Canada. In 1943 at the age of 18 Byron left to serve in the U.S. Army in the European Theater as a radio operator.

Upon returning to Whitefish Montana after the war, Byron married Dorothy Vaughn on October 14, 1947. They moved to Klamath Falls in 1950. Over the years they lived in St. Paul, Minnesota, Chicago, Washington, D.C., only to return to Oregon in 1982 to retire from being an executive for the CXS Railroad.

Byron is survived by his wife; Dorothy, children, Gary, David; sister, Vivian Courtney; five grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Duane; and sister, Faythe Sindt. There will be a 3:00pm service on Saturday, April 14 at the Albany Missionary Baptist Church.
