Obituary of Callie Kern Callie Mae Hurley Hicks Kern, age 93, of Asheboro died Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Randolph Health, Asheboro. Callie was born March 18, 1925 at Asheboro, NC the daughter of Charles and Alice Luther Hurley. Mrs. Kern was a native of Troy, NC and worked for more than 35 years at Stedman Manufacturing of Asheboro.

She always had a smile and enjoyed her time at Clapp’s Nursing Home of Asheboro where she loved to play Bingo. She enjoyed Gospel music; she will be greatly missed. She is survived by one daughter and her husband: Faye and Ken Joyner of Asheboro, NC and one son: Darrell Hicks of Asheboro, NC; 6 grandchildren,11 great grandchildren and 4 great- great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday, November 30, 2018 from 6 – 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The funeral will be Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Ed Carter officiating.

Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro. Memorial may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1300 Baxter St., Suite 150, Charlotte, NC 28204.
