Calvin Gillins Eyre, 76, passed away at his home in Richfield on November 15, 2018 from complications of cancer. He was born July 31, 1942 in Minersville to Thurman Frank and Irma Gillins Eyre. He married Carolyn Griffin, April 21, 1969 in Las Vegas, NV.

She preceded in death March 14, 2008. He married Diane Kirstine Skiby, June 17, 2010 in Elko, NV. Calvin served his country as a member of the Utah National Guard in Beaver.

He spent many years raising, training and running race horses (he never quit betting on them). He loved being in the outdoors hunting, fishing, spending time with his family and woodworking. He was always busy with more than one job going on at the same time, from flocked Christmas trees to selling ice all over town.

He owned and operated many full service gas stations from Las Vegas up through Beaver, Price and finally Richfield. He took care of the Sevier County Fair Grounds and was water master up at Accord Lakes. He worked many years with 6th District Juvenile Court (he made the little criminals sweat-yet was a positive influence in their lives).

Cal had a great sense of humor and it was always interesting to see where the stories went. Surviving him is his wife Diane of Richfield; children: Kristy (Doug) Stoker, Kimberly (Todd) Smith and Scott (Kelsey) Eyre all of Richfield, Lynnette (Russell) Carter of Springville, Heidi (Greg) Long of Lehi; step-son, Joel (Andrea) Harris of Lake Oswego, OR; 24 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brothers, Gordon (Sherrie) Eyre of Beaver, Gayle (Sheila) Eyre of Richfield; brother-in-law: David Gale of Cedar City. In addition to his parents and first wife, he is preceded in death by a sister, Madelyn Gale, and brother, Dale (Carla) Eyre.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Richfield 16th Ward Chapel, 800 North 500 East. Viewings: Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 at the Magleby Mortuary or Wednesday morning from 9:30 to10:30 at the church prior to services. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery with Military Honors by the Utah Army National Guard Honor Guard.
