Obituary for Calvin L. “Leeland” George Calvin L. “Leeland” George (61) of Toppenish passed away at Astria Regional Hospital on Thursday July 19, 2018. Leeland was born on October 4, 1956 to Alex George Jr. and Camella Hansen. He was raised and educated in The Dalles where he was an accomplished football player.

He participated in rodeo as a bullrider and mostly a wild horse racer. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and his generosity. Leeland was raised by his parents, Ernie and Camella Bellinger.

He enjoyed his family and his buddy, his dog, Achilles. He moved to the Yakima Valley in the mid 1970’s and worked as a log truck driver and a tribal commercial fisherman. He is survived by his wife, Judy; four children, Rose (Farrel), Camella (Billy), Calvin Jr. (Jennifer) and Erniemarion (Sky) George all of Toppenish; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ernie Bellinger and Wes Grant; four sisters, Stephanie, Terry and Barbara White and Debbie Fiander along with numerous other siblings; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Edith. Visitation with overnight services will be held on Tuesday July 24, 2018 at the McKinley Mission starting at 4PM. Graveside services will be Wednesday at 7AM at the 1910 Shaker Church Cemetery.
