Carl Edward Carpenter, 78, of Thorntown and formerly of Mooresville, Indiana, passed away at his home on May 2, 2019. He was born on November 30, 1940 in Seymour, Indiana, a son of the late Velmer and Mary Elizabeth (Smith) Carpenter. On September 1, 1962 he was married to Betty L. (Bishop) Carpenter at the Church of God in Mooresville; she survives.

Carl graduated from Center Grove High School and then served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy. He was employed with Eli Lilly for 35 years as a process technician. Carl was devoted to his family and enjoyed camping and fishing.
