Carl’s Obituary BOWEN, Carl Luther – Of Flint, age 82, died Thursday, March 14, 2019 at his residence. Funeral service will be held 11am Monday, March 18, 2019 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Pastor Ron Scott officiating. Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery.

Visitation 2-8pm Sunday at the funeral home. Carl was born in Jackson, Michigan on November 7, 1936, the son of the late Charles and Bessie (Griswold) Bowen. Mr. Bowen served his country in the United States Marine Corp.

He worked for and retired from General Motors. Carl was a big fan of game shows like Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy and was also a fan of police dramas such as Law and Order. Carl was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Flushing.

Surviving are children, Cynthia (Richard) Dodge, Carla Dunning, Mark Bowen and Serenity (Lee) Reed; grandchildren, Amanda, Jessica and Luke, Jonathan (Javeria), Holly, Danielle, Dustin Lee Jr., and Taylor; great-grandchildren, Cayleigh, Mariah and Abraham. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Barb, Mary Lou and Ilene and brother, Edward.
