Obituary for Carla Burns Carla Marie (Burleson) Burns, 62, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2018 in Brownwood, TX. Carla was born February 6, 1956 to Carl and Wanda Burleson in Graham, TX. She graduated Mineral Wells high school and married Joe Burns on August 12, 1976 at Mineral Wells.

Their union was blessed with two children and three grandchildren. Carla was a country girl who loved plants, doing yard work, horses, dogs and all of God’s animals. She was a foster mother to several raccoons and any other animal that came up needing a home.

She was a giant supporter for her children and a “sports mom” to her son Deacon. Carla was known to have played a little basketball when she was in school too. Carla worked for Kohler for over ten years and had lived in the Brownwood area over 40 years.

Carla is survived by her beloved husband, Joe Burns; 2 sons, Reagan Burns, and son Marshall of Brownwood and Deacon and wife Amber Burns and their children Hadley and Huxley of Canyon Lake, TX; her mother, Wanda Sue Rose Burleson of Brownwood; sister, Sue Ann Burleson of McKinney, TX; brother Ian Clayton Burleson of Graham; niece Meagon St. Clair of Pipe Creek, TX and her children, Isaish, David and Raylan; and a nephew Will Koen of Grand Prairie, TX. Carla was preceded in death by her father, Carl Loyd Burleson, Step mother, Lorene Burleson and a sister, Cathy Lynn. An informal Celebration of Life event has been planned by the family from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church of Brownwood, 5751 Hwy 279, Brownwood, TX 76801.
