Obituary for Carlton “Carl” Richard Yowell Carlton “Carl” Richard Yowell, age 71 of La Plata, Maryland, died December 22, 2018 at the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center in La Plata, Maryland. Carl was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and then a retired Deputy Sheriff with the Prince George’s County Sheriff’s Department and attended First Baptist Church of La Plata. He was a stamp dealer and collector and was always the family man for everyone.

His greatest joy was being a grandfather. He was a man of few words and was a very kind and giving man. He was the son of Carlton Traveris Yowell and Emily Ramona O’Lare Clancy.

In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his brothers, Raymond Clancy and Michael Yowell. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Patricia Ann Yowell; his daughters, Wendy Marie Yowell and Heather Lynn Guiffre; his son-in-law, Kevin; his brothers, James Yowell and Robert Clancy; and his grandchildren, Anthony Guiffre and Patrick Guiffre. Friends received on Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 10AM until time of Memorial Service at 11AM at First Baptist Church of La Plata, 9070 Hawthorne Road, La Plata, Maryland 20646.
