Obituary for Carmen Lydia “Cucas” Viruet Carmen “Cuca” Lydia Viruet, age 70 of Bridgeport, entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 22, 2019 in the Northbridge Health Care Center surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. Carmen was born April 3, 1948 in Arecibo, Puerto Rico; the beloved daughter of the late Andrea Rivera. Carmen was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend to many.

She was the hardworking matriarch of her family. Carmen was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her loved ones. She was a jokester and always had a beautiful smile on her face.

Carmen enjoyed dancing and loved to laugh. She will be missed deeply by all who had the honor of knowing her. In addition to her parents, Carmen was predeceased by her brother, Ismael Viruet.

Carmen is survived by: three daughters, Lydia J. Gonzalez & son-in-law Hiram Gonzalez of Bridgeport, Elizabeth Viruet of Milford, Evelyn Romero & son-in-law Jorge Diaz of Bridgeport; two sons, Wilfredo Lopez & daughter-in-law Astrid of Stratford, Vidal Romero of Milford; brother, Andres Viruet & sister-in-law Elizabeth of Chicago; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends who will cherish her memory. Arrangements are entrusted to Community Funeral Chapels, 798 Park Ave. Bridgeport, CT.
