Carol Agnes Pouppirt was born on November 4, 1934 in Mahnomen, Minnesota to Arthur and Caroline Krebsbach. She passed away in Littleton, Colorado on July 11, 2018. Carol was raised on the family farm and as a young woman of 18 years old, married and began her family.
In 1956, Carol and her family moved to the Denver area. She was first and foremost a mother and a homemaker. She was quite the seamstress and sewed many of her and her children’s clothes, and she was the best cook!
She passed her cooking skills down to her daughters, who to this day cannot figure out how to prepare a meal without preparing enough food to feed an army. Faith was important to Carol and she raised her children in the Catholic church. Once her kids were attending school, she began exploring opportunities outside the family home.
She studied and worked in a variety of positions before beginning her career at Honeywell Photographic Products Division in Littleton. She excelled in her career there and became the first female supervisor in the history of the company. After leaving Honeywell in 1974, she continued to work in the fence business which she owned with her husband, M.E. “Pop” Pouppirt.
Carol never liked her middle name, so Pop unofficially “changed her name” to Carol Angel, which we always felt a much more suitable designation. They enjoyed working and traveling together, taking many trips with the Ports of Call Travel Club and they enjoyed many years involved in the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Carol was a Past Auxiliary President of VFW Post 9644, and a Life Member of Post 2461.
After Pop passed away, she took up golfing. She enjoyed her time on the course and participated in the women’s golf league near her home. She enjoyed playing cards and socializing with her many friends.
Carol is survived by her children, Gary Teiken and his wife Karen of Littleton, Brenda Hearing and her husband Greg of Grand Junction, Jane Hay and her husband Randy of Thornton, Bruce Teiken and his wife Lori of Littleton and Rebecca Teiken of West Des Moines, IA. Carol had 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild. She was pre-deceased by her parents, her husband, Pop, her companion Bob Clemmer and her siblings, Delmar, Arthur Jr., Michael, John, Cyril, Corrine, Delores and Lorraine, and her granddaughter Brandie.
Carol was a breast cancer survivor. She was a strong woman with a big, caring heart and her family knew they were greatly loved. She shared a very special bond with each of her kids and never missed an opportunity to let them know how proud she was of them, and boy was she proud of her extended family!
Quick witted, and never one to cross, she was a true inspiration. Her zest for life was exhilarating and she will be dearly missed. Funeral Service 10:00 am on July 18th at Bullock Mortuary, Englewood, Colorado.
Private burial to follow July 25th at Fort Logan National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions to VFW Post 2461, 1350 S. Broadway, Denver, CO 80210, or a charity of your choice. “To Those I Love and Those Who Love Me” When I am gone, release me, let me go.
I have so many things to see and do. You mustn’t tie yourself to me, with tears, Be thankful for our beautiful years. I gave you my love, you can only guess how much you gave me in happiness.
Thank you for the love you each have shown, but now it’s time I traveled alone. Grieve for me a while, if grieve you must, then let your grief be comforted by trust. It’s only for a time that we must part, so bless the memories within your heart.
I won’t be far away, for life goes on, and if you need me, call and I will come. Though you can’t see or touch me, I’ll be near, and if you listen with your heart, you’ll hear. All my love around you soft and clear, and then, when you must come his way alone, I’ll greet you with a smile and say “Welcome Home”.
