Carol Ann (Stillday) Kingbird, “Gaash-kood”, 64, of Deer River, Minnesota began her journey to the spirit world on Saturday, May 25th, 2019 from the Grand Village Lodge in Grand Rapids, MN. She was born on January 1st, 1955 in Red Lake, MN the daughter of Bertha Stillday. Carol loved being with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, as well as the rest of her family.

She especially enjoyed spending time with her sisters-in-law Mona and Andrea. Carol enjoyed going to the casino, playing bingo and loved to dance at powwows. Her presence will most definitely be missed by all.

She is welcomed to the spirit world by her husband; Harlan Kingbird, Sr., mother; Bertha Stillday, sister; Vera Kingbird, grandparents; Tom and Lucy Stillday, Sr. and mother and father in-law; John and Julia Kingbird, Sr. and many other relatives. Those she leaves behind are her children; Flora Graves, Fleurette (Sheldon) Warner, Harlan Kingbird, Jr., Brandon (Clarissa) Kingbird, Sr., Landon Kingbird and Lola Kingbird, siblings; Dale Kingbird, Darwin Kingbird, Russell (Jody) Kingbird, Sr., Bonita Kingbird and Ada (Luke) Kingbird, brothers and sisters in-law; Andrea (David) Rosebear, Mona Nelson, John Kingbird, Jr., Roberta (Sami) Syed, uncle; Wilber Stillday, 35 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. A wake for Carol will begin at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 29th and continue until her 10:00 a.m. traditional service on Friday, May 31st all to be held at the Boys and Girls Club in Ponemah, MN.

Zac Earley, along with his assistant Ben Bonga, will be her Spiritual Advisor. Pallbearers for Carol are Earl Fairbanks, Gary Greenleaf, Brian Rosebear, Bobby Joe Kingbird, Patrick Greenleaf and Wayne Hand. Alternate pallbearers are John Kingbird III and Dwight “Arch” Greenleaf.

Her honorary pallbearers are Mona Nelson, Andrea Rosebear, Roberta Greenleaf, Wanda Ellingson, Gloria “Joanie” Nedeau and friends. Interment will be in the Family Burial Grounds at Ponemah, MN following her Friday services. Carol’s care has been entrusted to Northern Peace Funeral Home of Walker.
