Prater, Carol, age 82 of Germantown passed away December 7, 2018 at Hospice of Dayton. Carol was born to the late Gordon and Elizabeth (Hale) Burnett in Gratis, OH. Carol enjoyed bird watching and she also loved to cook, especially for family gatherings and holidays.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James Prater, her son Earl Wilhoit III, her son in law Raymond West, her sisters Eileen Kiracofe and Barbara Myers, and her brother Marvin Burnett. Carol is survived by her children Cindy West, Dennis (Michelle) Wilhoit, Lori (Johnny Ray) Montgomery, and Lisa Brown, her grandchildren Greg Wilhoit, Heather Johnson, Jeremy Shock, Chelsea, Joey and Michael Montgomery, Amber Clark, Terry Layer, Eric Apple, and Khloe Brown, as well as 18 great-grandchildren, including 3 special great grandchildren T.J., Austin, and Lexie. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at 11:30am at the Arpp, Root & Carter Funeral Home, 29 N. Main St. Germantown, OH with Pastor Todd Velte officiating.

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Tuesday beginning at 10:00am.
