Carol Allen, 82, of Zanesville, passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2018, at 8:00 P.M. at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House, Zanesville with her loving family and friends by her side after a brief illness. Carol was born on January 19, 1936 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Loyd and Emma (Mitchell) Fry. She graduated from New Straitsville High School in 1953.

Carol had a strong faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in which she instilled in those around her. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for fifty years and most recently has attended Washington Township Baptist Church. Carol’s greatest joys in life were spending time with her family, cooking, quilting, and cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes.

She retired from Time Warner Cable after thirty years of dedicated service. Carol was a loving wife to John E. Allen who passed away on September 29, 1982. She is survived by her children, Teresa Adolph of Palermo, New Jersey, Kenny (Janet) Allen of Zanesville and David Allen of Zanesville.

Grandchildren are Nathan (Jessica) Allen, Andrea Allen, Andrew Allen, Emily (Tim) Luallen and Lindsay (Barrie) Medina, and thirteen great-grandchildren with number fourteen on the way. Carol is survived by several nieces and a nephew along with a very special friend, Debbie Work. In addition to her husband and parents, Carol was preceded in death by her sisters, Helen Smith and Jo Arnold.

Friends and family may call from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 3, 2018, with Pastor Chris Riggs officiating. She will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Washington Township Baptist Church Building Fund, 5500 Church Hill Road, Zanesville, Ohio 43701 or to Genesis Hospice-Morrison House, 713 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio 43701.
