Carol Marie (Hayes) Tyler, 91, of Brazil, passed this earth to be with Jesus in Heaven on June 28, 2018 at The Exceptional Living Center of Brazil. Carol was born to Clara and Alva Hayes on April 2, 1927 in Lena, IN. She attended Van Buren Elementary and High School.

In 1958 she married Melvin Tyler, who precedes her in death and together they made a home on the family farm for a precious daughter, Constance Tyler who survives. Carol was a wonderful Christian wife, mother, sister, aunt and… Read More » friend to many. She was born into a family of 12 in which they all preceded her in death.

Seven sisters, Thelma Wood, Inez Robison, Edna Cornwell, Laveda Krider, Evelyn Hayes, Ann Marlow and Myrna Mercer; and four brothers, Willard, Wilmer, Forest and Vale Hayes. Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Eva Hayes. Coming from a musical family, she sang in a family quartet at Staunton Christian Church.

While living on a farm, she was a homemaker who prepared many meals for her family and farmers. They raised many animals on the farm, including their dog, “Chip” and cat, “Punk”. She was a prayer warrior testifying her faith to many.

Graveside services are schedules for 11:00 AM Thursday, July 5, 2018 in Calcutta Cemetery with pastors Marlin Betts and Steve Blades officiating. Libby Butts, soloist, will be singing her favorite song, “Till the Storm Passes By”. Burial will follow in the cemetery.
