Carole Heidenreich-Heilman (Rice), age 73, of Algonquin, passed away on October 12, 2018 in Huntley, IL with her loving family at her side. Carole was born on August 30, 1945 in Elgin, IL to her loving parents Leonard and Irene Rice. Carole was a devoted, fun-loving mother and grandmother, who always gave of her time and heart.

She loved her work as a bookkeeper at Ben Franklin, but was always a full time mom As her kids were growing up, the family spent most of their summers camping, but as she explained, their camping trips were part of “the good old days of real camping”, aka roughing it in tents. Carole was very proud of her family and was excited to become a “Yah Yah” to her 7 grandchildren. She loved holidays and family get-togethers; any chance to spend time with her family was important to her.

She would spend hours cooking and preparing for her company. Always adventurous, Carole loved to travel; she spent much time in her RV shared with her cherished and loved partner Al Lux discovering new places to visit and traveling all over the country looking for fun four wheeling adventures. She had a passion for music, flea markets, putting together million piece puzzles, gardening and Danielle Steel novels.

She also enjoyed having cocktails with a wide circle of intimate friends with whom she shared her life. Carole was a joyful, loving woman and her family and friends will miss her strong, giving spirit. Carole’s work here as a cherished mom, “Yah Yah”, friend and loving partner is now done, but a new adventure takes her to a wonderful place where she will be traveling, socializing, dancing, gardening and reading to her heart’s content.

Music, laughter and love are guaranteed and we want to let her know that we are grateful to have had her in our life and wish her a safe journey. We will remember her smile, her warmth, her energy, her love for life, family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Carole is survived by her children David (Debbie) Heidenreich, Karen (Richard) Wojak, and Keith (Cari) Heidenreich; her beloved grandchildren, Olivia, Myah, Zoe, Ava, Lexi, Aleah and Easton; her brother Alan (Cheryl) Rice, loved significant other Al Lux, and many dear nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, Carole preceded in death by her younger brother Kenny Rice, her first husband Warren Heidenreich, and second husband Robert Heilman.
