Mission – Carolina Martinez, 74, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 5, 2019 surrounded by her family at Mission Regional Medical Center. She was born on August 8, 1944 in Mexico to Hemerejildo and Gudelia (Vargas) Blanco. Carolina was a life long resident of Mission.

She enjoyed and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved reading her bible daily. Carolina truly lived life to its fullest.

She will forever be in our hearts. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Homero Martinez; two sons: Homero Martinez, Jr. and Luis Alejandro Martinez. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Jimmy R. Blanco, Elizabeth Sawyer, Raquel Gonzalez, Yolanda Cavazos and Alfredo Blanco; siblings: Baldomero Blanco, Manuel Blanco, Guadalupe Ross, Juanita Blanco, Lydia Galvan, Eva Blanco, Maria Blanco and Estella Mata; 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:00 to 9:00 pm on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 with a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm at Rivera Funeral Home, L.L.C. of Mission. Chapel Service will be held at 12:00 pm Wednesday, May 8, 2018 at Rivera Funeral Home, L.L.C. of Mission. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission.
