Carolyn Anne Stout November 4, 1952 – May 13, 2019 A funeral ceremony honoring and remembering the life of Carolyn Anne Stout will be held 11 AM Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Rice Funeral Service. Visitation will begin at 9 AM Thursday at the funeral home prior to the ceremony. Carolyn passed away Monday, May 13, 2019 at her home in Chelsea.

She was 66. Born November 4, 1952 in Tulsa, Carolyn was the daughter of Oscar and Gladys (Walker) Cox. She attended elementary school before moving to Claremore where she graduated with the Class of 1970.

Following high school, Carolyn attended Rogers State College. She fell in love with Roger Stout when he pulled into the baseball field parking lot driving his new Oldsmobile F85 hot rod. The couple married October 4, 1969 in Claremore at her parent’s home.

They spent over 50 wonderful years together. Carolyn worked at J.C. Penny’s for several years prior to pursuing a career in social services with Community Action in Claremore. She loved her work and regularly discussed how she enjoyed helping people prepare their taxes, organize their healthcare, and meet all of their housing needs.

The outdoors were always special to Carolyn. She loved camping, hiking, water skiing, and spending time with her beloved family. Carolyn regularly took her grandchildren to museums, nature trails, and supporting them in all of their athletic events.

She loved decorating her home for all of the seasons and was known to be an avid Oklahoma State Cowboy fan. Her Red Velvet Cake will not soon be forgotten. Carolyn loved her animals, which included her cat, her goat, her turkey, her dogs, and a couple of horses.

She always gave them an extraordinary level of care. A devout Christian, Carolyn loved attending the Church on the Move. She was very involved with the Blue Starr Mothers and loved ensuring that deployed soldiers received their care packages.

Carolyn will be dearly missed by many family members and friends who loved her. Surviving family members include her husband, Roger Stout; her three children: Timothy Reed Stout and his wife, Sara, Tabitha Parker and her husband Brett, and Christopher Stout; her seven grandchildren: Caden Reed Stout, Josh Stout, Saige and Stormy Stout, Maverik Parker, Macey Parker, and Makinlee Parker. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents.
