OBITUARY Carolyn Cooper October 3, 1934 – July 13, 2018 Carolyn Cooper passed into eternal peace on July 13, 2018. Carolyn was 83. Carolyn was born October 3, 1934 in New Albany, Mississippi.

She grew up in Mississippi and went to Wood Junior College and Mississippi State. It was at Wood Junior College that she met the love of her life, Burton G. Cooper. They were married in 1956 and spent the next 56 years as husband and wife until his death in 2012.

Carolyn was also preceded in death by her parents and older sister, Anne. Carolyn is survived by her three daughters, Janet Johnson and husband, Chris, Sandra Cooper Griffin and husband, Stan, Ann Prince and husband, Jon. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Amanda Garcia, Ellen Young, Elliott Prince, Justin Prince, Lisa Jones and Ely Prince.

She is blessed with seven beautiful great-grandchildren. Carolyn also leaves behind one sister, Virginia Kay Kelley, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Carolyn was a math teacher.

She worked for 22 years for Corpus Christi Independent School District. She taught at Martin Middle School from the time it opened until her retirement in 1991. The celebration of her life will occur at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Thursday, July 19, 2018 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

A Chapel Service will occur at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Friday, July 20, 2018 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be sent to your favorite religious organization.

FAMILY Janet Johnson (Chris), Daughter Sandra Cooper Griffin (Stan), Daughter Ann Prince (Jon), Daughter Amanda Garcia, Grandchild Ellen Young, Grandchild Elliott Prince, Grandchild Justin Prince, Grandchild Lisa Jones, Grandchild Ely Prince, Grandchild Virginia Kay Kelley, Sister Mrs. Cooper also leaves seven beautiful great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews to cherish her memory.
