OBITUARY Carolyn Diane Smith December 15, 1949 – December 7, 2018 Mrs. Carolyn Diane Smith, age 68, of Alabaster, Alabama passed away on Friday December 7, 2018. Diane was born December 15, 1949. Originally from Montevallo, Alabama, Diane was the daughter of Jimmy and Billie Ruth Spain.

After graduating from high school, Diane started her family, raising two sons with her husband of 48 years. In 2000, she applied for a secretarial job online, and found herself employed with the Central Intelligence Agency; she was granted the opportunity to travel the world. She never told her family what her job title was without telling them she “would have to kill them”.

After retirement, Diane spent her days with her grandchildren whom she adored, and traveling to her beach home in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Preceding her in death are her parents Jimmy and Billie Ruth. Left behind to cherish her memory are her loving husband, T. Wayne Smith; sons, Mark Smith (Tammy), and Alton Smith (Kassie); grandchildren, Tiffany Quinley, Lindsey Davis, Kendall Smith, Tullus Smith, Zoie Smith, and Ember Smith; great-grandson, Vincent Davis; sister, Robin Williams (John); special family friend, James “Sonny” Carney; and a plethora of nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Visitation will be held Monday, December 10, 2018 at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo) from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. A Funeral Service will he held Tuesday December 11, 2018 at 11:00 am at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo) followed by burial at Moore’s Cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama. Diane was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

There isn’t anything she would not do for those she loved, and she will be dearly missed by her friends and family.
