Carolyn S Davis Wood , June 01, 1955 — June 12, 2018

Carolyn S. Wood, 63, passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at Community Hospital in Anderson. Carolyn was born on June 1, 1955, in Marion, to the late John and Rebecca (Garner) Davis. She graduated from Fairmount High School in 1973.

She later worked at the VA Hospital in Marion as the Canteen Chief and retired after more than 20 years of service. Carolyn married Michael Wood on March 25, 1983, and he survives. For the last year, she had been a member of the Back Creek Friends Church in Fairmount.

Carolyn enjoyed reading, sewing, and most crafts. She loved to go riding on the motorcycle with Mike. More than anything, Carolyn loved to spend time with her family.

She spent as much time as possible with her grandkids, as they were her world. She will also be missed at the monthly dinners she used to have with all of her siblings. Carolyn is survived by her husband, Mike Wood, Jonesboro; three children, Tracy (Chris) Brown, Elwood, Tiffany (John) Draper, Jonesboro, and Ryan (Ashley) Wood, Columbia City; eight grandchildren, Johnathon Biddle, Keagan Brown, Rebecca Brown, Aubrianna “Al” Brown, Syndey Painter, Aren Draper, Olivia Wood, and Grace Wood; many adopted grandchildren; five siblings, John (Jane Ann) Davis, Marion, Ronald (Lynn) Davis, Fairmount, Barbara (Rick) Conley, Noblesville, Timothy (Debora) Davis, FL, and Thomas (Donna) Davis, Fowlerton; mother-in-law, Nancy Wood, Jonesboro; brother-in-law, Greg Wood, Fairmount, and cousins Bill and Sue Bishop, NC.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Rebecca Davis; sister-in-law, Teresa Davis; father-in-law, Larry Wood; grandmother, Marcella Koons; and grandmother-in-law, Pauline Wood. Arrangements for Carolyn have been entrusted to Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services Fairmount Chapel, 415 S. Main St., Fairmount, Indiana, where a visitation will be held on Friday, June 15, 2018, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m., with Joel Clark, Ron Forsythe, and Glen Davis officiating. Contributions made in memory of Carolyn may be made to Back Creek Friends Church, 7560 S. 150 E. Fairmount, Indiana 46928.
