Carolyn “Sue” Dempsey, 84, of Van Wert died at 8:51 AM on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice. She was born on December 9, 1934 in Marion County, Indiana to the late James Noel and Nina (Haines) Reece. Sue retired from the Van Wert County Fair Board office after many years of service.

She is survived by her three children, Larry Eber, Brenda (Ron) Fackler, and Mark Harman, all of Van Wert; her grandchildren, Brad Eber, Kylie (Cory) Cira, Jessi Harman, Therrin Eber, and Reece Eber; great grandchildren, Mason and Avery Cira; and a sister, Kay (Pete) Sweeney of St. Marys, Ohio. In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by two husbands, Wally Harman and then Jack Dempsey; a son, Terry Eber; and a niece, Tina Smith. Private family services will be held with burial at Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials may be directed to Community Health Professionals-Hospice. Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory is handling the arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed at www.
