Obituary for Carolyn V. Callahan Carolyn V. Callahan, age 81, of Grove passed away on Monday, October 15, 2018 at Grove Nursing Center. She was born April 15, 1937 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to John and Betty (Deemer) Montgomery. On July 13, 1957 Carolyn married the love of her life, William J. Callahan in Wilkinsburgh, Pennsylvania.

They were married 61 years until William’s passing on September 16, 2018. The couple moved to the Grand Lake area in the 90’s, where they made their home in Grove. They owned and operated Burky’s Restaurant near Honey Creek Bridge for several years before their retirement.

Carolyn also worked as a clerk at Les’ Liquor in Grove. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by two sons, John Callahan and wife Kay of Grove, and James Callahan of Tulsa; and one granddaughter Nicole Callahan; as well as 4 great grandchildren.
