Carolyn married Anthony Edward Daniels (who preceded her in death). They met while in high school and eventually married in the summer of 1956. Born to this union were two children, Antoinette Paula Daniels and Gary Jay Daniels, Sr. (who also preceded her in death).
Carolyn attended First Baptist Church of Cumminsville, where she decided at an early age to accept Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized. In 1966, she joined Saint Paul A.M.E. Church, which at the time was located in Walnut Hills. She attended Saint Paul until her passing.
While attending Saint Paul, Carolyn was active in the Women’s Missionary Society. She served as president of the Senior Usher Board and as president of Senior’s Ministry after the passing of Mrs. Hattie Carr. She was also a long-serving member of the Steward Board.
Carolyn was also active outside the church as a member of the Nannie Helen Burroughs Federated Women’s Club in Walnut Hills. Carolyn retired in 2002 from Cincinnati Public Schools where she was a secretary for 31 years. After retiring, she continued working as a substitute secretary for four more years before finally retiring in 2006.
For many years, Carolyn also enjoyed participating on a bowling team with friends and co-workers. Like her siblings, Carolyn loved her family very much and enjoyed gathering with them in her home and on picnics for all kinds of gatherings and celebrations with family and friends. She especially enjoyed traveling in the summer with her husband, her children, and other family members.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter; Antoinette Paula Daniels, one aunt; Elizabeth Clark, three grandchildren; Gariauna Jaylinn and Gary Jay Daniels Jr. and Eric Burton, all of Cincinnati, Ohio, one sister-in-law, Dossie White, and a host of other relatives and friends.
