Obituary for Carvin C Welch Carvin C. Welch, 72, husband of Janice Jackson Welch, died Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at Palmetto Health Tuomey. Born January 29, 1946, in Charleston, he was a son of the late Henry E. Welch and the late Edna Corene Smith Welch. He retired from the heating and air business.

Survivors include his wife of 43, years; a daughter, Michelle Swiney (Tim) of Sumter; two grandchildren, Christopher Swiney and Cameron Swiney; and three sisters, Mary Grooms (Willie), Gloria Hatfield (Bubba), and Julie Hayes. He was preceded by death by two brothers, Henry E. Welch, Jr. and Roy A. Welch. Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. Friday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev.

Eugene Mosier officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Christopher Swiney, Cameron Swiney, Tracey Welch, Joey Gainey, Jacob Moye, and Dale Watts.

Junior Welch will serve as an honorary pallbearer. The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 P.M. Friday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
