CATHALEEN DUNN ANDERTON (Cathy) Cathaleen was born December 1, 1923 in Salt Lake City, Utah to James Leo Dunn and Ella Sessions Dunn. She passed away April 19, 2018 in West Jordan, Utah. Her childhood was spent in many places, she lived in Soldier Summit, UT, Grand Junction, CO, Salt Lake City, UT and Helper, UT.

She graduated from Carbon High in 1941. In 1942 she went to work for the Rio Grande Railroad in the office. There she met a tall good looking locomotive engineer, Ray D. Anderton.

They were married September 30, 1943 in Salt Lake City, UT, later solemnized in the Manti, UT Temple in 1954. They lived in Helper for five years then moved to Vermillion, UT. They lived there 18 years then moved back to Helper in 1967.

Ray passed away January 5, 2004. She worked as a teller for Richfield Commercial Bank in Richfield, UT, Walker Bank in Price, UT and for Utah Power and Light in Price, UT. Cathy was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in many leadership positions.

She worked with the Boy Scouts for 35 years in many positions. She was active in P.T.A., served on Local, District and State Boards in Sevier and Carbon Counties. She was given a Life Membership in 1978 for her service to the youth.

In 1981 she joined the Pink Ladies at Castleview Hospital where she was a member for twenty-one years. In 1996 she received the Governor’s Silver Bowl Award for Volunteer’s, and in 2002 she was honored as State Volunteer of the Year. She is survived by two sons, Ray Dee (Veda) Anderton, Allen, TX, Shane (Brandy) Anderton, West Jordan, UT, twin daughters LaRayne (Max) Davis, Price, UT, LaRae (Ray) Cook, Roosevelt, UT, Marilyn Blake, Moundsville, WV, sister Renee Dunn, Battle Ground, WA, brother John Dunn Helper, UT, brothers-in-law Ron (Muriel) Anderton, Ted Anderton and sister-in-law Sally Huffman, 24 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, 23 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, daughter Phyllis Mae Anderton, her parents, three brothers James Dunn, Leo B. Dunn and Francis Dunn, three sisters Lucille Mare, Geraldine Dunn and Joan Day, daughter-in-law Michelle Anderton, sisters-in-law Carol Dunn, Delores Dunn, Prudy Dunn, Patricia Anderton, Carol Latturner, Faye O’Neil, Charlotte Anderton and Norma Anderton, brothers-in-law Bud Latturner, Charles O’Neil, Bob Anderton and Kenneth Huffman. A viewing will be held Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Fausett Mortuary, Price, Utah from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be at the Carbonville Ward, Spring Glen, Utah at 12:00 noon with a viewing one hour prior.

Interment will follow in the Mt. View Cemetery entrusted to Fausett Mortuary. Family and friends may sign the online guestbook and share memories of Cathy at www.
