CLINTON – Catherine C. Lashen, 90, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 12, 2019, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. She was born on February 3, 1929, in New Hartford, the daughter of the late Rocco and Maria (Surace) Romeo. Catherine attended New Hartford schools.

On August 1, 1970, she married Gordon Lashen in the Church of the Annunciation, Clark Mills. They shared a blessed union of over 19 years prior to his passing on June 18, 1990. Catherine worked for over 35 years at Grand Union, in New Hartford, prior to her retirement in 1991.

She is survived by her step-children and their spouses, Diane and Ken McGeough, TN, Kenny and Lisa Lashen, Buffalo, Andrea, and Tracy Schinsing, Rochester; several step-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews including special niece, Beth Doris and her husband, Rob, with whom she resided and was cared for by; brother and sister-in-law, Dominic and Martha Romeo, PA and brother-in-law, Charles Doris, Gravesville. Catherine was predeceased by her siblings and their spouses, Joseph and Mary Romeo, Josephine and John Wheeler, James and Manuella Romeo, Rosemary and Stanley Kurczyk, Angela Hardy and Grace Doris. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Tuesday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Catholic Church.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will follow immediately and be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Remembrances in Catherine’s name may be made to the Abraham House.

Envelopes will be available at the Mass. Catherine’s family would like to thank the nurses on 3C at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, Allison, Ryan, Marissa, Bill, Mike and Amanda along with Dr. Dhabhar and his nurses, Cathy, Debbie, Alicia, and Laurie for the care and compassion shown to her. Arrangements are under the direction of McGrath, Myslinski, Karboski & Nunn Funeral Directors, 470 French Rd.
