Obituary for Catherine “Cathy” Holzbach (Steiner) Catherine Claire Holzbach “Cathy”, age 50 years, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday June 2, 2018 at her home in North Fond du Lac. She was born on April 2, 1968 in West Bend to Robert and Carol Steiner. Cathy graduated from St. Frances Cabrini Grade School in 1982, West Bend East High School in 1986 and UW Oshkosh with a Bachelor of Art in Journalism in 1990.

On October 17, 1992, she married William Holzbach. Together they built a marriage foundation that would lead them to Russia to adopt their two beautiful children of their hearts, Jonathan and Anastasia. Jon was received from the Baby Home #3 in Rostov-on-Don and Ana came from a Baby Home in Novocherkassk, both at ten months of age in 2000.

From that blessing on … nothing was more important to Cathy than being the best Mom she knew how to be to raise her beautiful gifts from God. While dealing with the challenges of two children close in age, Cathy worked diligently doing the bookkeeping of their business, Advanced Water Conditioning. She became the family IT person…always willing to help solve a computer glitch.

When not working, Cathy and family enjoyed traveling to National Parks throughout the country to enjoy all the beauty they have to offer. She was so very proud to watch Jon and Ana graduate from Notre Dame Academy High School in Green Bay just two weeks ago. Up to that milestone day you could always find Cathy, along with Bill, in a stadium seat watching and supporting her children in their various sports, especially hockey.

She was their biggest cheerleader. Cathy will be greatly missed and always loved by all her family and friends. Cathy is survived by her husband Bill, her children Anastasia and Jonathan, her mother Carol Steiner, in-laws Robert and Joan Holzbach, stepmother Ginny Steiner, sister-in-law Jackie Risjord, brothers; Rick (Gayle) Steiner and Randy (Jayne) Steiner, sister Cheryl (Terry) Nelson, sister-in-law Cindy Steiner, brother Ray (Karen) Steiner, stepbrothers; Ron (Tami Kroner), Dr. William (Cherri) Kroner, Jim (Lia) Kroner, Rick (Ruth) Kroner and Dr. Eric (Mollie) Kroner, many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father Robert J. Steiner, her brother Russell E. Steiner, niece Haddie L.Steiner, brother-in-law Eric W. Risjord, stepfather Allen E. Rakow, biological grandfather Edward S. Suchy, grandparents Don and Clara Theisen, and grandparents Elroy and Catherine Steiner. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:45am on Saturday June 9th at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church (1025 S. 7th Ave. West Bend) with Fr.

Justin Lopina presiding. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday June 9th from 9:30am until 11:30am. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Threshold or Jon and Ana’s College Education appreciated.
