96, of Providence, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Golden Crest Nursing Center, North Providence. She was the beloved wife of the late Samuel J. Boretos. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Dennis and Georgia (Alexakis) Danakas.

Catherine along with her late husband were the owners of The Victory Lunch in Providence for many years before their retirement in 1970. Catherine was the devoted caregiver to her husband, mother, and aunt. She enjoyed cooking Greek delicacies and spending time with her family.

She was selfless, compassionate, charming, sweet, quick-witted, larger than life and endearing. She was the devoted mother of John S. Boretos of Providence and Georgia Fortunato of Cranston. Catherine was the cherished grandmother of Katina Fortunato Baren of New York City.

She was the sister of the late Helen Psilopoulos and Florence Stakopohis. Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Friday at 10:00 a.m. followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. in the Church of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 175 Oaklawn Avenue, Cranston. Burial will be in North Burial Ground, Providence.

VISITING HOURS Thursday 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Angell Animal Medical Center, 350 S. Huntington Avenue, Jamaica Plains, MA 02130. Or the Alzheimer’s Association, 245 Waterman Street, Suite 306, Providence, RI 02906.
