Campopiano of Providence and David Simpson and his wife Sonya of Ripley, ME; loving brother of David M. Simpson of Providence and Tayla L. Simpson of CT; dear step-brother of Cierra L. Prentiss and Tayler J. Prentiss, both of ME; maternal grandson of David and Dorothy (Mariano) Campopiano of Cranston, RI and paternal grandson of Donald W. Simpson and his wife Jamie of ME and Nanette (Lesage) Boudreau and her husband Scott of Chepachet, RI; and step-grandson of Steve and Buffy Wiers of ME.

An outstanding football player, Matthew was a 2018 graduate from Dexter High School in ME where he was captain of the defensive team; and was a former running back at Killingly Middle School in CT. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid N.E. Patriots fan. Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave.

, Cranston on Friday, July 27th at 9:45 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, 1525 Cranston St., Cranston at 11 a.m. Burial will be at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS are Thursday, July 26th from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital, 22 Bramhall St., Portland, ME 04102.
