Catherine T. Milheim, 94, of Wayland, Michigan and most recently Belford, New Jersey, passed away Friday, February 15th. Catherine was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York on March 9, 1924, a daughter of the late Catherine and John McDonald. As a young adult, she moved to Wayland where she lived for over 65 years.

She worked at the Union Bank in Grand Rapids for many years. Catherine was a founding member and the First Ladies Auxiliary President of the VFW post in Wayland She was a communicant of St. Terese Roman Catholic Church. After her husband’s passing, Catherine went to live with her brother Tom in Texas and then 3 years ago came to New Jersey to live with her niece Kathleen.

Catherine was predeceased by her husband, Eldon Milheim in 2002. She is survived by her two brothers, Thomas McDonald, of Texas and John McDonald, of Keyport, New Jersey. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, but was especially close to her niece Kathleen Marden, and nephews in Michigan, Rollin and Larry Butler.

Friends and family may pay their respects on Sunday from 2-4 pm at Scott & Kedz Home for Funerals, 153 CHurch St, Belford. Catherine will then return home to Wayland, Michigan to be buried next to her husband at East Elmwood Cemetery. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St Terese RC Church, Wayland, Michigan.
