Obituary for Celia G. Garcia Celia G. Garcia, of San Antonio, passed away on June 14, 2018. Celia was born to Hilario Gomez and Maria Garza, on September 17, 1928. She had an enthusiasm for life and enjoyed being in the company of family and friends.
Celia is remembered for her kindness and generosity. She always made everyone welcome in her home and shared her family and life with everyone. There was no one she did not like.
Celia was active in her home, always gardening, painting and whatever else needed looking after. Celia didn’t wait for help, she just did it. She shared her plants and her love of plants with everybody who admired them.
Celia was always ready for fishing trips, hunting trips or just trips with her family and friends to surrounding parks. She is preceded in death by Hilario Gomez (Father), Maria Garza (Mother), her son Gerardo Garcia and grandson Santos T. Garcia III. Celia is survived by her loving husband of 74 years, Santos G. Garcia, children Yolanda Garza, Santos G. Garcia Jr., Belinda Garcia (Jesus), Diana G. Arocha, Elma Garcia (Gerardo spouse), Rolando Garcia (Patricia), Robert G. Garcia (Brenda), 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter, brother, Daniel Gomez, sisters, Ofelia (Gomez) Sanchez, Eloisa (Gomez) Telkamp, Gloria (Gomez) Perez, and a host of family and friends.
Special thanks to daughter-in-law, Patricia Garcia and Brenda Garcia for their constant love, companionship and care provided throughout her illness. They stayed by her side throughout her illness and provided excellent care by going above and beyond. The visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Palm Heights Mortuary.
The procession will depart at 11:00 AM for a 11:30 AM Mass, on Tuesday, June 27, 2018 at St. James the Apostle Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Celia G. Garcia please visit our Sympathy Store.
