Chad M. Dixon, 36, of Phenix City, AL passed away Saturday, February 9, 2019 at the Columbus Hospice House in Columbus, GA. A celebration of life service will be held 11:00 am EST Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL with Pastor Jeremy Green officiating. A private internment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 pm EST at the funeral home. Chad was born in Columbus, GA son of Tammy Hill Moore and the late Larry Dixon. He worked as a Claims Compliance Specialist for AFLAC.

Chad loved life and participated in numerous organizations. He coached the Smiths Station Dixie Girls Softball team and ran the Smiths Station Co-ed Softball League, where he was the head coach of Psycho Pitches. He was a sports writer for the Phenix Citizen and had a special connection with the CVCC baseball and softball teams, as well as the Smiths Station and Central softball and baseball teams.

Chad was a huge Chicago Cubs fan and also loved professional wrestling and Alabama football. Other than his mother, Tammy Hill Moore and step-father Bob, he is survived by his loving wife Brittney Brown Dixon of Phenix City, AL; daughters, Berkley Eastridge, Caroline Granby and his unborn daughter Bayley Dixon; maternal grandmother, Liv Meadows of Phenix City, AL; sisters, Mandy Downs and husband Peanut of Phenix City, AL and Robin Berry and husband David of Winnfield, LA; brothers, James Moore and wife Abby of Phenix City, AL, and Bobby Moore of Phenix City, AL; a special niece, Bridget Berry of Winnfield, LA; several extended family and numerous caring friends. In lieu of flowers please make donations to a memorial fund set up at SunTrust Bank for Bayley Dixon (in the name of Brittney Dixon) in honor of her dad Chad.

Additionally, the family asks that if you purchased a “fight Chad fight” t-shirt, please wear it to visitation on Wednesday night.
