Chani Lynn Hummel passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 8th. She was born October 12, 1957 in the Bannock Memorial Hospital in Pocatello, Idaho. She weighed 3 pounds 14 ounces and measured 16 inches long.

Graduated Idaho Falls High School and continued her education studying Botany, Sociology and Philosophy at Idaho State University. She achieved her Master Gardner certification from the University of Idaho. She enjoyed being surrounded by nature and felt at peace with a fishing pole in her hands.

Chani was an avid reader and devoured books beginning from the time she first learned to read. She is preceded by grandparents Elmer and Ruth Terry, Naomi and Charles Hummel, father Donald R. Terry and brother Kipp Hummel. She is survived by mother Marlene Hummel, daughter Joë and husband Nathan Schmidt and son Adam Burk.
