Connie Johnson Baxter passed away peacefully on November 17th from complications of a brain aneurysm she sustained in June 2018. Her last week was happy and filled with laughs, smiles and kisses. Connie was born April 12, 1940 to Cly and Ethel Johnson.

She grew up in Preston with along with two sisters and a brother. She was a life-long resident of Preston. She attended Preston High School and graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Elementary Education.

On February 15, 1963, she married DeVerl C. Baxter. They were blessed with five children. Connie loved children.

She taught 5th grade at Oakwood Elementary in Preston. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served twice as Primary President and enjoyed all her callings, especially ministering to other sisters in her ward.

Connie and DeVerl faithfully served in the Arkansas Little Rock Mission. They also served together for six years at the Conference Center in Salt Lake City as guides. Connie loved her children and grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them whenever possible.

She is survived by her husband DeVerl of Preston, Jeff Baxter of Preston, Kristen (Brett) Gee of Midvale, Utah, Brian (Jodie) Baxter of Draper, Utah, Amy (Ike) Romero of Herriman, Utah and Andrea (Bruce) James of Burley, Idaho and 11 grandchildren. She is also survived by Her brother Ron (Joan) Johnson of Grantsville, Utah, and sisters Clydene Bowen of Herriman, Utah and Beverly (George) Thompson of Ephrata, Washington. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Preston Third Ward Chapel, 155 N. 2nd W., Preston, Idaho. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East, Preston, Idaho and Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.
