Obituary for Charles B “Charlie” Courtney Charles B. Courtney 64 of Sykesville, MD Passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2018 peacefully with his family by his side. Beloved husband of Karen L. (Mathsen) Courtney. He was born November 15, 1954 in Washington, DC.

Charlie grew up and was raised in Wheaton, MD the son of the late James E. and Ethel M. (Ferber) Courtney. Retired Captain Montgomery County Fire Department, Career Fireman, member of IAFF Local 1664, member of Wheaton Moose Lodge 1775. He was a family man and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Devoted father of Matthew and wife Christine Courtney, Tommy and wife Deirdre Courtney. Dear brother of Wayne Courtney, Loving grandfather of Greyson, Finley, Thomas Jr., and Delaney. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great- nephews.

A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
