Charles B. Daniels, 88 of Peru Vermont, formerly of Scottdale, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, December 19, 2018, in Springfield Health and Rehab Center, Springfield, Vermont. He was born, September 8, 1930 in Franklin Twp, Fayette Co. a son of the late Clarence and Margaret Bowman Daniels. Charles was Catholic by faith and was a former member of the Partner Parish of St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Scottdale.

He was a Proud Veteran of the U.S. Air Force, where he obtained the rank of Sergeant during the Korean War, while holding the position of Firefighter. He was Honorably Discharged, October 13, 1955. Following his discharge, he enrolled in Flight School and obtained a private Pilot license to become a crop duster.

He was Graduate of East Huntingdon Class of 1948. He retired in 1978 from Bell of Pennsylvania as a telephone lineman and repairman where he employed for a number of years. Charles held leadership roles in the American Legion, Moose, and Eagles in both Pennsylvania and in Florida.

He served as Past Worthy President (Grand Aerie) Fraternal Order Of Eagles in 1990 in Inverness FL and in 1992 in Crystal River, Fl. After his retirement, he enjoyed his life in Florida, where he spent most of his time volunteering and helping others, thru this he received letters of appreciation for multiple years of appreciation as a School Crossing Guard, 1988, Volunteer of the year at Marion Citrus Mental Health Centers, Inc., 2006 Verizon Pioneers Appreciation Award and many letters of appreciation for rescuing the elderly and needy during Florida’s storms and hurricanes. Charles loved to spend time with his family and friends, especially dressing as Santa Clause with his daughter, Jan, as Mrs. Clause, for bringing joy to Frick Hospital employees and patients.

Charles is gone from our lives, but will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, His loving and devoted Daughters: Sandy Bisher and companion Stacy Burkey of Fla. Jeri Luczki and husband Adam of Scottdale Jan Daniels and companion Don of Mt. Pleasant Renee Vansickle and husband Doug of Peru, VT, with whom he resided.

His Twelve Grandchildren, Twenty Five Great Grandchildren and Two Great Great Grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by: Wife, Joan A. Daniels (Jan. 4, 2010) Son: Arvin R. Daniels (Oct.

Richard Kosisko, Facillator. Committal Services and Interment will immediately follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery.
