Charles, retired from the United States Air Force in San Antonio, TX on July 31, 1982 after completing twenty-two years of active duty as a subsistence operations superintendent. He later went on to continue working for the Air Force as a civilian at Randolph A.F.B. for approximately twenty-five more years. Charles accepted Christ as his Savior on March 20, 2018.

“Papa” as his grandchildren called him, enjoyed gardening, sitting on the front porch with a beer in his hand, playing with his grandchildren, and eating his nightly bowl of ice cream before bedtime. Papa will be remembered as a nurturing provider that always put his family before himself. We jokingly called him the “banana bandit” because he would stash snacks from the hospitals and rehabs to give to the grandkids when they came over to visit.

One thing is for sure… The house will never sound or feel quite the same without his humor.
